APM worked as part of a design and build team for Collen Construction Ltd. on a 2-storey, 4 no. COLO datacentre totalling 40MW located in the UK. APM was involved in taking a Stage 4a design through further detailed design and progression to Stage 5.
In addition APM are providing construction and commissioning support. The project was the third building on campus which resulted in strict limitations in terms of spatial coordination. The site was additionally located in close proximity to large residential and ecological areas resulting in stringent acoustic and lighting criteria.
The project was for a Distributed Redundant design to be completed in blocks of 10MW. The cooling system designed catered for the entire building which involved detailed review of phasing of commissioning and handover requirements.
The initial scope was peer review of the existing Stage 4a package and identification of any gaps to progress to final detailed design and construction.
APM then assisted with all aspects of construction support to project handover.
